...where learning is fun
Sorry to announce that the Museum is now closed permanently.

Our Mission
Our mission is to engage and excite children through learning by feeding their energies with interactive, hands on learning experiences that are content rich within the STEAM education. It is an approachable and inclusive way to teach children.
ABOUT US
The Sandusky Children's Museum is an educational resource center capable of illustrating science concepts not easily demonstrated in the classroom. We are a nonprofit educational organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio, and granted tax-exempt status by the Department of Internal Revenue.
The Museum is funded in large part by the "For Love With Love Charity."
Additional funding comes from admissions fees, membership dues, and donations by friends, visitors, local businesses, service organizations, and foundation grants.
How We Operate
The Sandusky Children's Museum is a learning center. Our structured tours are designed to instruct our guests on the uses of a variety of science related activities, which enhances their understanding about the world in which we live. Our target audience are children from 4 to 14 years of age. We tailor our tours to match the ages of the guests in front of us to ensure our guests an exciting, fun, and educational experience.
Not recommended for ages under 4 unless accompanied by older children in the same tour group. SCM is not a playground. Parents are encouraged to maintain a no rough housing or horseplay behavior for the group.
Volunteer
The Sandusky Children's Museum relies on our volunteers to run smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering for us, please download and complete our Volunteer Application.
Our Murals
Have you seen our murals? They're the work of local artist (and Perkins High School grad) Derek Brennan!
Derek received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University, where he served as President of the Two-Dimensional Art Association. During his time at the university, he received multiple awards, including two Ringholz Art Supply Awards and 1st place awards in painting and drawing. Post-graduation, Derek worked for a Cleveland clothing company as a graphic designer, creating t-shirt designs. He has presented his work at the Toledo Museum of Art, Manifest Gallery, Bay Arts and the International Society of Caricature Artist’s annual convention. This past year, Derek was commissioned to create his second mural for the city of Fostoria in Ohio. His work has been featured in Manifest Gallery’s 9th Annual International Drawing publication along with their Rites of Passage exhibition. Recently he has had a solo exhibition at Loftworks Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio and has exhibited work at Morpho Gallery’s 6th Annual international encaustics exhibition in Chicago, Illinois.
We are so excited to showcase Derek's amazing artwork at SCM. Check it out!
